Why Do You Need A Professional?
I was told today that "oh my teenager can take my photographs"... I'm sure they can and I'm sure they will be lovely. So let's consider for a moment why would you want to use a professional? Realize it is not the camera that makes the portrait any more than a stove makes the meal. (Oh!! I need to start dinner, be right back!)
Portraits, true portraits - not cell phone, not selfies, etc - are timeless. They capture what you look like today. This is the most photographed generation of all time, but where are those pictures? Not on your wall. Guaranteed, you would not want some of them on your wall.
When I talked to my sister-in-love recently about going into the Photography business full-time, taking that leap of faith, she admitted she and her hubby had never gone to a professional photographer and really at that moment couldn't understand why anyone really would unless it was a special occasion (marriage, babies, etc.). The thing is, what will future generations know about you? Really nothing if your pictures stay on your phone or computer. This is partly why, (with the exception of headshots) we at Brass Frog don't provide digitals, only prints.
My sister-in-love said she would trust me to do a Portrait Session with her and her husband. She was really surprised that she got over her fear of the camera pretty quickly and that I was with her to guide her in any questions she might have. Now you might be thinking "yeah but it's her relative of course she's helping her". What you have to know is that we would do that for anyone. We want you to feel like you have gained an experience, not just a picture - We are creating art, an everlasting Portrait that you will have for a lifetime.
I think my sister-in-love and her hubby are a beautiful couple, why not share that love with everyone.
