10 Minute Challenge
If you follow my blog, you will certainly know there are some photographers I absolutely love and find inspiration in their work - inspiring me to think outside the box! One of my all time favorites is Jordan Matter! He is known for his 10 Minute Challenges, usually in New York, usually with dancers (although he has used circus performers too). The idea is to go someplace without any concept or scouting or preconceived notion and in 10 minutes get the best photographs you can. It challenges the photographer to think outside the box and also the dancer.
So we set out to do a 10 minute challenge. Because we did not want to get arrested, we asked permission at Target to do a shoot and they graciously agreed (Thank you #MillvilleTarget #Target). This sounds easy, but it is not. To find fun ideas in 10 minutes is truly a challenge. Right light, right situations, not blurry pictures, all of that coupled with EEK 10 minutes. 10 minutes certainly goes quickly when you are running through Target, especially for the poor dancer who is in Pointe shoes! Would I do it again?? Absolutely! It was a ton of fun, got my creative thoughts running wild and was great to push the dancers abilities!
Here are my photos from today - other than straightening some of them and a few tweeks on color balance there is no other "retouches" in these photos.

*Disclaimer - I am in no way trying to be Jordan Matter, or am I trying to steal his work. I am simply just inspired by him and think he's amazing!*
*Another disclaimer - We are not saying you should drink Tide, it was just a fun shot! And the photographs of the dancer in the red circle, were not part of the 10 minute challenge, it was the dancers reward for doing this - those she wanted... Also, you can tell the dancers thoughts on the Eagles do not reflect those of the photographer!*
